It's that time of the year again, and my Christmas book list is growing ever longer. After reading several genres of books, I came to realize that I'm very attached to journalistic/ detective-based thrillers, historical fiction and travel lit. Here's my book list for Christmas 2009:
... the cemetery of secrets by david hewson
... the dracula dossier by james reese
... the enchantress of florence by salman rushdie
... down the nile by rosemary mahoney
... italy by lawrence venuti
... travel writing by ian duncan
... greece by artemis leontis
... child44 by tom rob smith
... the historian by elizabeth kostova
... music and silence by rose tremain
... the book of secrets by tom harper
... the sword on the templars by paul christopher
... the black angel by john conolly
Here's my very short tech list for the season:
... Logitech S-150 USB Digital Speaker - loudspeakers for my laptop. Much needed during my audiovisual presentations and for blaring up the sounds in my room at 3am.

... Genius HS-02i Black Neckband Headset - earphones for my laptop too. If I don't want to publicly announce at 3am that I'm still awake, at least I have a pair of earphones that'll put some spice during those lonely hours.
... Creative Zen Neeon 2 1GB - because I want to have background music during epic moments in my life. I'm not much of an iPod person; I'm more of a Creative person (literally). Besides, I hate the hassle of installing drivers.
... DVD copy of Jay - my favorite movie of all time, by my favorite director of all time, Francis Xavier Pasión.
... Canon Powershot G10 Digital Camera - well, probably not this year but hopefully when my mom goes to Hong Kong next March I'll beg her to buy me this.
How about New Year's Resolutions? Just a few that I know I'd keep:
1. Bring a notebook, be it regular sized or slightly smaller, and a pen around so I can properly document (and remember) details of the events that I go to. Sometimes a camera is not enough; this is when words become powerful.
2. Go back to the gym.
3. Take more photos, write more articles.
4. Let go of regret, live my passions and live with passion.
